Aromatherapy aids your physical, emotional and spiritual well-being

Essential oils are derived from aromatic plants and have been utilised for different purposes over the centuries. More recently, from the late 20th Century onwards, the use of essential oils in Aromatherapy has developed which takes advantage of their therapeutic, emotional and spirtual properties. Combining aromatherapy with reflexology is a wonderful way to enhance the benefits of a reflexology session, taking the treatment to a new dimension and become an integral part of a client's holistic treatment plan.

Trained by Carolyn Robert's, the principal of the Gaia School of Natural Health, Nicki has gained the Gaia Aromareflex qualification. This enables, from the choice of 12 essential oils, the design of therapeutic oil blends tailored to aid with a client's presenting conditions. A couple of suitable blends are discussed with the client who then selects their blend of preference. This oil blend is then combined with a reflexology balm and used during a reflexology treatment. Afterwards the client takes the blend away with them for directed use at home as well as for future reflexology sessions.

A therapeutic Aromareflex blend consists of three essential oils and may include:

Roman chamomile; Frankincense; Geranium; Lemon; Lavender; Marjaram; Sweet orange; Peppermint; Damask rose; Rosemary; Mysore sandlewood; Tea tree.
